Ford: 100 Years of Automobile History

The Museu do Caramulo inaugurated its cycle of temporary exhibitions with the exhibition "Ford: 100 Years of Automobile History".

The chosen theme, "Ford: 100 Years of Automobile History" has a profound relationship with the creation of the automobile collection of the Museu do Caramulo, which was started by João de Lacerda with a Ford T from 1925. It was this automobile which justified the first temporary exhibition of the Museu do Caramulo, promoted but this institution.

The exhibition was set in the main building of the Museu do Caramulo between May 25th and August 31st 2002 and was visited by more than 16.000 people and gave a perspective of the history of Ford Motor Company in the world and in Portugal, documenting the arrival of Ford in Portugal and it’s evolution until our days.

The exhibition was supported by Banco Português de Negócios, Hotel do Caramulo, Ford Lusitana, Câmara Municipal de Tondela and Câmara Municipal de Viseu.
